James Dumes

James (Jimmy) Dumes May 10, 1947 – March 04, 2026

Jimmy lived his life in a honorable manner. On May 10, 1947, a beautiful baby boy was born to the late Sam Dumes, Sr. and Emily Johnson Dumes of Le Moyer, LA.

Jimmy graduated from Lincoln Morrow Senior High School in Morrow, LA. He was the fourth child of 12 children.

In the early part of his life, he moved to Houston, TX where he met and married the love of his life Elretha Dennis. They enjoyed 53 loving years together. Within this union three boys were born. On March 4, 2026, God dispatched his angel to come and carry his child home. He is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Elretha Dennis; his three sons, Christopher (Gladys) Dumes, LaTrakus Dumes, and

Terrance (NeKisha) Dumes; and one daughter, Samantha Pierre Gibson, all of Houston, TX. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five sisters, one brother, one sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
