

Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years Eloise Jayne Ellis
4 children and 3 spouses, Lyn Ellis, James and Claudia Ellis, Wayne and Nancy Ellis and Steven and Ileana Ellis.
6 grandchildren: Alexis and Nels Henderson, Jesse Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Vaughn Ellis, Ian Ellis and Anabella Ellis.
3 great grandchildren: Wesley Ellis, William Ellis and Hannah Henderson.
Jim served in the Marines in the South Pacific, he was very proud to be a Marne and was a member pf C.B.I organization where men and women served in China, Burma and India. Jim went to the University at the renowned L.S.U. where he got a degree in Civil Engineering in the Transportation field. He graduated in 1950 and left his job as a surveyor to work with Kaiser Engineers.
Jim was a very kind and thoughtful man, always helping others. He was there to help family, friends and neighbors with computer work, which he was very good at, moving items, building projects and fixing sprinkler systems, a man of many skills. Helping with their any clubs, organizing, computing, and hauling food or chairs whatever was needed of him he did. Jim’s hobbies included woodworking, golfing, sailing and he was very proud of getting his pilot’s license.
Jim was a world traveler, he got the bug from his wife Jayne and once he got started there was no stopping him. This is a list of some of the places Jim went: China, Russia, Peru, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Antarctica, Isle of Man, Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, and Morocco), Ireland, Scotland, England, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Baltic Sea, Canada, down the Yangtze River and the Nile River. He also brought his family on three cruises, two to the Caribbean and one up North to San Francisco, Canada and Seattle.
Jim passed away with his son doing what he loved, traveling.
Jim will be missed.
