James Alvin Harrison

March 25, 1945September 25, 2021

James Alvin Harrison, born March 25, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana and went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2021 in Georgetown, Texas. He was a beloved father to Elizabeth Sloane and father in law to Robert Sloane. Proud grandpa to James Dean and great grandpa to Zoey, Jace, James, and Brayden. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends. James is preceded in death by his mother, Maxzine Graham of Houston, brothers, Gerald and Ralph Harrison, and wife, Kathryn Harrison.

James was dedicated to his family like he was dedicated to his job. A career that lasted from 1961 to 2021. Trucking was the only career that made him happy and James was only one of a few men that could say they logged over 10 million miles. You could ask him directions to just about anywhere and he could get you there. Even if you had a GPS he would still give you directions to your destination. He’d even tell you the best places to eat. When he wasn’t driving, he enjoyed fishing, playing poker, or dominoes with friends and family. He loved all sports, but football was the one thing that he and his daughter could enjoy the most. A house divided between OU and A&M was always fun to watch. James was a jokester and love telling a good joke. Mostly James was a happy person to be around and was loving and very caring and would be there for you if you needed him.
