James Ford Hudson Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Ford Hudson, age 77, of Houston, TX, who passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2025, after an 8 year-long battle. Jim was born on November 4, 1947, in Wharton, TX to James and Ruth Hudson.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jim lived a life full of honor, humor, and integrity. He proudly served over 20 years as a Houston police officer, a career he so deeply cherished. Jim married Randi Hardung in May 1973, and together they raised two children: James and Kellie and is a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren. A lifelong Astros fan, Jim had a special hat that was only worn when the Astros were up to bat. Jim also never missed a moment to celebrate the accomplishments of his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife Randi, his children Kellie (Stephen) and Jimmy (Francis), his grandchildren: Taylor, Madison, Brett, Chase, Haley, Hannah and Makayla, his sister-in-law, Elaine, and niece, Ann Margaret. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale, along with his in-laws, Herbert and Frances Hardung, and brother-in-law Wayne Hardung.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
