He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances M. Jacobs; his father, James F. Jacobs Sr.; and his stepson, James Normile.
James is survived by his daughter, Tara Davis; and his beloved granddaughters, Morgan and Addison. He is also survived by his siblings: Patricia Fedro, Joe Jurden, Kenneth Jurden, and Kathy Gibson. James was blessed with one nephew, four nieces, and countless great-nieces and great-nephews.
He will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind, generous, and selfless man. James was known for giving his last dime—or even the shirt off his back—to someone he believed needed it more, often putting others before himself without hesitation. His heart was truly full of compassion and grace.
James loved his family deeply and had a steadfast faith in the Lord. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for those around him will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, located at 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX, 77077, US. The service is scheduled for August 20, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
