And I think of my brother with the biggest heart, who always showed up at your door with anything you might need or want, and would accept nothing in return….

I think of our kids with the thoughtful uncle with a mischievous smile who put coins in the Easter eggs for the hunt on the backyard, handed out $2 bills and nice writing pens with pharmacy names on them. And helped Grandma remember cards for their birthdays. Dear sweet Uncle Jim.

Jim would do anything for anybody, anytime. He loved fishing – especially with family & friends. In his younger years, he loved doing crazy stunts on his motorcycle and taking car engines apart and reassembling them. He enjoyed his nieces and nephews and played Santa at Christmas and the bunny at Easter. He was very devoted to his family, especially when his parents were elderly.

I remember Jim for his kindness – always wanting to help and trying to please. He was devoted to family and helped care for our parents in their later years. He loved family get togethers and playing with the nieces, nephews and now great nieces and nephews. In fact the last time many of us saw Jim was a few weekends ago where there was one of Bob’s famous crawfish boils at Walt & Mary’s on Sat. (Photo in Gallery) Then many of us, including Jim & Kitty, met for lunch at Pappasitos. Jim told the waiter that it was 7 yr.-old Grant’s birthday (it wasn’t). Jim laughed & laughed when a dessert with a lit candle arrived & a Mexican hat was put on surprised Grant’s head! We saved the day because it really was Anna Grace's birthday.

Jim would always help others. He would give anybody the shirt off his back. He was extremely giving & thoughtful.
Jim was very good with his hands. This was apparently part of his Eagle Scout upbringing.

I recall when Jim took the blame for me when I threw certain seeds in dad's garden as a joke. Uncle George identified it and gave dad a hard time for his cash crop, etc. Jim said he did it knowing that I did and got chewed out. Uncle George had fun with that one for a while.
