

Growing up in the country, James spent his time with family and friends and gained a love for art. He could draw just about anything placed in his sight. Along with the love for art was the LOVE for his wife Fannie. James and Fannie met in their early years of adulthood and married on September 24, 1965. Through this union they had two children, Patrick Wayne and Orlando Nigel, Sr.
James’ work history includes his time at Coca-Cola Plant in Homer, LA, P&S Rice Mill in Houston, TX, and Harris County Fluid Control, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. After his retirement, James spent his time working around the house, and attending New Light Church of Houston, TX, as a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior.
James weathered many storms but the one that was tough was when he lost his youngest son, Orlando, Sr. Accepting his son’s death was difficult, adding to his ongoing to health issues. James experienced a significant decline in health in January 2025, and he passed away on February 9, 2025.
Preceding him in death are his parents, George Sr. and Ida Bell Logan, his brother, Alfreada, and his beloved son, Orlando Logan, Sr.
James leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Fannie Logan; his son, Patrick D. Logan; daughter-in-law, LaQuinta Logan; grandchildren, Orlando N. Logan, Jr. (Scoop), Andrew N. Logan, Syndey E. Logan, and Shannon E. Logan; six siblings, Willie Logan (Washington, DC), George Logan, Jr. (Houston, TX), Uria Logan (Haynesville, LA), Jerrie James (Missouri City, TX), Doise Logan (Maryland), Melba Logan (Haynesville, LA); sister-in-law, Ruth Logan (Hots Springs, AR); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at New Light Christian Center Church, 1535 Greensmark Dr., Houston, TX 77067. The funeral services will immediately follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The committal will be held services ill be held from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Paradise Cemetery South, 16001 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581.
