James Edward O’Brien, beloved husband, brother, and son, passed away at the age of 35 in a tragic car accident on May 17, 2018, in Winkler County, Texas. James, a native of College Station, Texas was born November 3, 1982, to Edward Stanley O’Brien and Michelle Griffin Wright. James married the love of his life, Michelle Mohnke O’Brien in 2015, and they have since resided in Houston, Texas. He was co-founder of a successful oil and gas company in Carrizo Springs, Texas.
James had a love for life bigger than the outdoors. He never met a stranger and was always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed help. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, drinking beer, throwing washers and bags, and some occasional shenanigans. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
James was loved by everyone, but the Lord loved him more, and James knew the Lord’s love and the promise of eternal life with Jesus. He will be there to greet us all with open arms and that big ol’ smile when we see him again at the ultimate family reunion.
James is survived by his wife Michelle and their pet “child” Lexie. He is survived by his mother and step-father, brothers and sisters, family and friends who loved him dearly.
James is preceded in death by his father, Edward, and his grandparents, James and Frances O’Brien, and John and Mildred Griffin.
