James Richard

He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church for over 50 years. During that time, he served as an usher, money counter of donations and also worked bingo for years.

He was preceded by his son Michael. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carrie, his son, James Ellis, daughter-in-law, Susan, and grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer. Other surviving members from out of state are brothers John DeVillier, Billy DeVillier, and sister Jane Sylvester and many nieces and nephews. James retired from Mrs. Baird’s bakery as a route salesman in 2003 after 20 years of employment. Soon after retirement he was a volunteer at Memorial Hermann – Greater Heights hospital for over 10 years.

The visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 5-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Pat H. Foley and Company, 1200 W 34th St. Houston, TX 77018. Funeral mass will be Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 10am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Rd. Houston, TX 77092. Burial will be at 1pm at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy. Houston, TX 77079.
