

James Milton Sisk (Jim) of Houston, TX, was born December 17, 1939 to Samuel and Laura Sisk in Liberty, TX. He passed peacefully to be with the Lord on September 20, 2012. Jim was a devoted husband, and is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ann Sisk, his children, Melinda (Mindy) McDonald, son-in-law Charles McDonald, James Sisk, Derek Sisk, and daughter-in-law Angela Sisk. He is also survived by his brother Billy Sisk, and Mary Lou Cash, sister-in-law Sandra Whitmire, grandchildren Blake and Emily McDonald, and Gavin Sisk, numerous nieces and nephews, along with many treasured friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Kenneth Sisk.Graduating from Liberty High School, Jim attended Rice University in Houston, earning a civil engineering degree. After college he served honorably as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He enjoyed a long career in Houston’s offshore oil and gas industry. A faithful Christian, and longtime member of Tallowood Baptist Church, he generously supported his church and countless charities. His joy came from spending time with family and friends, as he was always eager to coach sports, volunteer at schools, build or repair anything, play with his grandchildren, and loved a good game of cards after eating Mexican food. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Tallowood Baptist Church chapel located at 555 Tallowood Rd. Houston, TX 77024 with Rev. Larry Bertrand officiating.
