James Whittet Towsen was born June 19, 1922 in Willamsport, PA, and passed away peacefully at home September 25, 2017. He is survived by his son Jim Towsen and wife Mary, daughters Barby Harwell and husband Roy, Melissa Allenspach and husband Mike, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Jim was an active member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. A memorial service for Jim will be held in the chapel of MDPC, 11612 Memorial Drive, Monday, October 23, at 2 pm. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Sarah Shearer and staff and Vitas Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to MDPC or the charity of their choice.
