

James B White, a beloved resident of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on November 14, 1929, to Calvin and Georgia White, James grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as the youngest of six children. After high school, James enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from January 13, 1950, until January 12, 1954 and proudly served in the Korean War.
After returning from the war, James moved to New Jersey and later attended Montclair State College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962 and his Master’s degree in 1968. James enjoyed a long and fulfilling career teaching industrial arts and theater production at Millburn High School. During his tenure at Millburn High School James was instrumental in developing fine arts stage set designs for the school as local community theater stages, and was well-loved by fellow faculty, students, and the community. He was awarded a key to the town of Millburn by local officials. James resided in Boonton Township New Jersey with his family and served on the local hospital board in the community demonstrating his generous and kind-hearted nature.
James is survived by his two children from his former marriage to Patricia White (deceased): Barbara White and Deborah Concepcion, along with her family husband, Jose Concepcion, and their two children, Joseph and Ryan Concepcion, his sister in-law Betty White, her daughter Robbie and her family along, and several other relatives all of whom he loved and adored. James later married Belinda White (now deceased). In 2015, James moved to The Woodlands, Texas, to be closer to his grandsons, with whom he shared many joyous milestones and activities including their school concerts, sporting events, and celebrations and was affectionally know as Pop-Pop.
James enjoyed many hobbies and activities. He was an avid sports fan of the Mets, Knicks and Jets. He also loved gardening, listening to classical music, and reading. He was a devoted family man, known for his wise and hard-working nature.
James lived a long and full life, celebrating his 96th birthday with family and friends just a week before his passing. His kind and giving spirit left a lasting legacy on all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 19, 2025, at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, located at 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, Texas, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. James will later be laid to rest at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in New Jersey.

The family is going to create a memory garden for Pop Pop so they would prefer live shrubs, perennial flowers, or shrubs as opposed to cut flowers.
