Jane McWhorter O'Connor

Jane was born in Charleston, South Carolina, May 28, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, B.H. and Beverly Brittle McWhorter. She grew up in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, graduated from Winthrop University and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina. After graduation from USC, Jane moved to Houston, Texas, where she worked in the energy industry. Jane met and married Michael S. O’Connor in 1979 and the two were happily married for 34 years. Jane was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she will be remembered for her bright smile and kind spirit.

Jane’s survivors include her husband Mike, her sister Pat Clark (Roger) of Dorchester, South Carolina; her brother Robert O. McWhorter (Denise) of Pinopolis, South Carolina; her nieces Allyson Clark Greer (Chad) and Brooke McWhorter Pizzati (Rene’); her nephews Christopher Owen McWhorter (Suyapa) and Robert Clayton McWhorter (Amy); and her uncle Thomas E. Brittle.

A memorial service for Jane will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7901 Westview Drive, Houston, Texas 77055, on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.
