Jane Elizabeth Tisinger

Jane Elizabeth York Tisinger, age 92, passed away on December 20, 2014 following a long illness. Jane was living in Willis, Texas at the time of her death with Robert Descamps, her companion and dear friend for 25 years. Jane was born on March 3, 1922 in Wharton, Texas. Her parents were Van Neal York and Mable Marsh York of Wharton. In earlier times, she resided in E. St. Louis, Illinois and in San Antonio, Texas, as well as Houston. She married William Earnest Barrett, Jr. in 1943, bearing a son, James Neal Barrett on June 2, 1944. William was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Following his death in the crash of an Air Force plane, Jane was left to raise James alone. She is survived by her son, James Neal Barrett of Houston, as well as her grandchildren, Lori Christian Barrett of Salt Lake City, Utah, Angela Elizabeth Barrett and William York Barrett, both of Houston, Texas. Jane's beloved pet, Sweetie, was beside her as her health declined. Jame will be greatly missed by her family, who will always remember her as a truly sweet, generous and accepting person. She was totally gentle and loving. She loved puppies, kittens, and all animals. She loved flowers, the seashore and dollhouses. She loved Barbie dolls, knickknacks, art and music. She loved sunsets and sunrises and poetry. Of course, most of all, she loved her family: Jim, Bob, her grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Patricia Barrett.
