As a single mom and raises three sons and one daughter. In addition, she cared for her grandparents. Janie worked several jobs to provide for her children. Times were tough in the 80’s during recession. Janie always managed to provide food on the table, a roof over her children’s heads and clothing. She was funny and feist little lady and defended her children when necessary. She struggles through life but never gave up. Her home-made tortillas, pies, mole, menudo, caldos, etc., were delicious. In 2009 Janie attended Lakewood church with her sister Virgen Dillard and cousin JoAnn Gonzales and was deeply touched by the word of God and accepted the Lord as her Savior and requested to be baptized. Daughter Atilana Guerra cared for her mom until her last days with so much love, compassion, and never left her site. Janie Guerra (Mother) love will linger on in thoughts of happy memories. I watch you dance every time you hear any type of music with a lot of laughter. Mom went home to be with the Lord very peacefully and in her heart, there was no room for hatred. Janie T.
