Janie Louise Lambright

Janie Louise Lambright, 77 of Humble, Texas passed away on March 24, 2025. She was born in Perryton, Texas on July 9, 1947, to parents Harold Johnston and Bobbie Mae Doke. Janie earned her education from Crosbyton High School.

Janie met Ray Lambright in Houston, Texas. The two would fall in love and marry on December 24, 1973. Janie had a successful 25 year career in the parole and discharge department with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the Walls Unit in Huntsville, Texas. Outside of her career, Janie had a passion for working in tending to her yard, cooking for her family, fishing, worshipping with fellow believers at church and spending time with her best friends and the love of her life Ray.

Janie is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Lambright; mother, Bobbie Mae Doke; father, Harold Johnston; and sisters, Pat Smith and Ilene Gartman.

She is survived by her daughter, LaDonna Lambright; son, Gordon Lambright; son, Ronnie Lambright and wife Donna Lambright; grandchildren, Evan Dean Lambright, Jonathan Lambright, Courtnee Lambright, and Ronnie Lambright Jr. and wife Lesli Lambright; great grandchildren, Brixton Lambright, Cannon Lambright, and Hallie Lambright; siblings, Eddie Tedford and wife Dianne, Rene Schimel and husband Bob, Harold Wayne Johnston and wife Shirley, Rickie Johnston, Arlene Simons and husband Gene, Darla Bookout, David Johnston and wife Donna, and Steven Johnston and wife Lisa.

Serving as pallbearers are Gordon Lambright, Evan Lambright, Ronnie Lambright, Ronnie Lambright Jr., Jonathan Lambright and Alton Ray Boggs.

A visitation for Janie will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A committal service will occur Monday, March 31, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A reception will occur Monday, March 31, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
