Janie Stuart Pielop passed away peacefully at home on Monday, the 24th of April 2017. Born in Poplarville, Mississippi on the 15th of November 1943, Janie attended Poplarville High School and later Baylor University, where she was a member of Pi Lambda Phi and received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1965. Following graduation, Janie taught seventh grade mathematics in Spring Branch ISD. Through her Sunday school class at Second Baptist Church, Janie caught the eye of her husband, Bill, whom she married in 1971. They welcomed son Chris in 1972 and son Stuart in 1976, establishing Janie’s true calling as a faithful and devoted mother to her boys and later as “Oma” to her six grandchildren. Her love for babies extended beyond her own family, and she enjoyed her time as a volunteer baby rocker at Second Baptist where she also enjoyed the fellowship of the Perfect Peace Sunday school class. Janie was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Emmett Stuart and Margaret Smith Stuart. She is survived by her husband William E. Pielop III; sons William Christian Pielop and wife Josie, Jonathan Stuart Pielop and wife Nikki; grandchildren, Will, Caroline, Gus, Ben, James, and Cate; sister Patricia McCleary and husband Bill; and several nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the loving care provided to Janie by Cecilia Araniva, Ana Castillo, Rosa Cepeda, Ana Yanira Dreyfus, Janice Leger, and Claudia Velasquez.
