Janie Yzquierdo passed away peacefully at home on Saturday morning, June 29th surrounded by her family. Janie cherished her family and friends. Wherever and in whatever form she was able to contribute to someone’s life, she was there, be it a tiny or great act of kindness--it is who she was. She lifted her community by contributing to others.
Janie was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife to Benjamin Yzquierdo. Her qualities felt by many were forgiveness, being caring and living patiently. She treated others as she wanted to be treated. She remained active in her senior years by lending her hand through service at St. Ambrose Catholic Church as a founding member of the Guadalupanas, and through participation with the Altar Society and the Golden Youth Organizations. Her spiritual growth and reach increased as a Eucharistic Minister and Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister where many were touched by her.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She lived out her beliefs, in particular, by the intersession of the Holy Spirit. Through the teachings of the Holy Spirit, a vessel that forged her spiritual life, which gave her boundless strength throughout her life.
Janie had a sparkle in her eye and a magnetic smile. She will be remembered as a friend to all, for her beautiful smile, her welcoming spirit, and her sense of style.
