He was a graduate of The Admiral Farragut Academy. Received his geology degree from University of Illinois and received his Masters from the University of Colorado.
Jay worked for The Superior Oil Company in locales of Libya, South Africa and opened the London office for Superior. He started his own consulting firm Gexco and was also President and CEO of Texoma Production Company (Midcon Corporation). He was also very proud to be associated with the CLK Partnership, Houston/New Orleans.
Jay was a member of the following clubs; The American Club and Annabel’s in London, Wentworth Golf Club, Brae Burn Country Club, Coronado Club and Petroleum Club.
Jay liked the following - His family, the Oil and Gas business, playing golf with friends throughout the world and to laugh.
He is survived by his wife Louann Clark Gallagher and brother in law John W. Clark Jr., his son Thomas Martin Gallagher and his Godsons Jax Fisher and Houston Rentz of Houston Texas.
He is also survived by the loving families of John and Dianne Brock and their children, John and Lori, Val and Leslie, Susan Brock Wilkes and John, and Martin and Kari Brock and their children and grandchildren; The Joseph and Kim Reid family and the Reid children, Lisa Westbrook (deceased), Joey Reid, Taylor and Krissi Reid, Leslie Wilson, David Reid. He is also survived by the Dunlap/Cadenhead/Simon/Lucia Families.
The family would like to thank the following who helped in his care for the past few years, Seneca, Sade and Harris Cossee and Yvonne and Cyd Isidro of Access Personal Care Home and their staff.
A memorial service in celebration of Jay’s life will be conducted at half-past one o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday the 11th of September 2018, at Westminster United Methodist Church, 5801 San Felipe Street in Houston, with Dr. Jeff Powers, Pastor officiating.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception at a venue to be announced during the service.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be John Brock, Joseph Reid, Ron Keller, Michael Sparks, Chuck Orrico, Trey Rentz and Walter McKinlay.
