My heart, thoughts,  and prayers goes out to everyone that knew and loved Jay.  He was a wonderful friend and mentor.  I'll never forget his words during my pregnancy with my little girl, as all I did was eat ice chips, Jay would always tell me that I was going to have a "Little Ice Princess".  Remembering a great man and friend!

I just found out about Jay's death last night. I am shocked and terribly saddened that he is gone. My deepest sympathy to you all. Lynda Edwards-Sheffield

   I am in total shock that I am just now hearing about Jay. He had such a wonderful life to have been cut so short, so many friends. We all have so many wonderful memories. He was a Big Brother, Big Daddy & quite the charactor to be around. The Houston Rodeo will NEVER be the same. Maybe if we are all blessed he will be protecting us all from up above! 
  Monty, you know I will always be here for you when you need a shoulder or a bit of humor to help you through the rough spots.

Jay was like an uncle to me. I didnt kno him that long but it felt like i did. He always gave me hell and treated me like a neice that hes known for years. I will never forget him. We lost a great man. But he is in great hands with the lord

It is hard to believe that Jay has left so young.  He will be truly missed by his Rodeo family as well his other families and friends.  You could always find him in the room by his smile,it always seemed to stand out.  He will be missed.

Dear Monty McFarlane and Family,

I can remember when we played coed softball right next to one another outfield and you would get onto me for missing a ball.  :)  You will be missed by many and always remembered! I sit her in shock as I type this as it still does not seem real that you are gone.  Such as kind soul with a great big heart of gold.  So many people touched by your presence and made to smile with the mention of your name.  I feel honored that I have known you (through my Brother John) for so many years.
