

JB attended and graduated Dunbar High School in Lufkin, Texas. Following graduation JB enlisted into the United States Army. JB ranked as Sergeant and a Airborne Black Ranger while fighting in the Korean/Vietnam War. He retired after serving his country 21 years. He attended Tyler Junior College, Angelina College, and San Jacinto College. He earned two Associate Degrees in Radiology and Nursing Home Administration. He retired from Memorial City Hospital.
JB accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and later baptized. JB's love for God involved his passion to continuously visit the nursing homes, prisons, and help many others who were sick. He was a long time Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. He also worked in the church as a Deacon for many years. He was a faithful member of St. Luke MBC and later joined Greater St. Paul MBC. He was a skillful musician writing songs, singing, and recording. He founded his own music studio, Terrapin Music Studio, with the Sons of Thunder. He was talented in playing piano, organ, keyboard, and harmonica but he loved the bass guitar.
On July 31, 2016, JB Strange Jr. departed his earthly life in Houston, Texas. Left to cherish his memories are his devoted and loving wife, Donna Strange, daughters, Renee Strange Johnson of Lufkin, TX, Tamalae Strange of Channelview, TX, Candace Strange Hicks of Baytown, TX, Angel Kirby (Steve) of Tomball, TX and sons JB Strange III (Danielle) of Copperas Cove, TX, Brandon Strange and Arron Strange both of Houston, TX. Sisters, Bobbie Jean Kirkling and Eva Josephine Fleming both of Tyler TX and Brother, Robert Earl Ross (Anita) of Tyler, TX. Also left to cherish his memories are a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
JB proceeded death by his parents, JB Strange Sr. (father) and Virginia King Strange Ross (mother) Warren James Ross Sr. (stepfather), Warren James Ross Jr. (brother) , and Lamonte Ford (son).
