

Jean Ann Cherner died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Jean was born in Louisville, Kentucky March 9, 1926 to Treva and James Dye. For 62 years she was the love of her husband, Philip Cherner’s life. She was his partner, sweetheart and best friend. His heart is heavy with sadness for his loss but glad she is with God and out of pain. She was the inspiration for his life’s work. The most remarkable human he has ever known. She will shine as a beacon for any handicapped person to reach. Jean will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Jim Cherner (Angela) and daughter Amy Cherner Taylor (Jeff). She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Cherner Brawner. Also referred to as Mudder and Gran-Gran, she is survived by her grandchildren; Sean Brawner (Emily), Lauren Price (Nathan), Annie Cherner, Brenden and Kade Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Park Funeral Home’s Mausoleum for family members, Houston, Texas.
