

Jeanette T. Pavlu, 76, of Deer Park, Texas passed away in a Webster hospital on Wednesday, January 19th 2011. She was born January 13, 1935 in Yoakum, Texas. She had no brothers or sisters. Mrs. Pavlu moved to San Antonio Texas as a child and attended St. Gerald’s Catholic School. Jeanette married Charles Golden Giles of Heber City, Utah on September 20, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas and divorced him in 1965. They had two daughters: Debra Ann and Taryn Marie. Jeanette married James Ellis McCroy in 1969 and divorced and remarried him three times. The last marriage to James McCory was in December 1985. James Ellis McCroy died on November 9th, 1989 in Houston Texas due to lung cancer. Jeanette married Alfred Paul Pavlu, her third and final husband, on October 13th, 1990. Alfred Pavlu died at the age of 89 on October 8th 2009 from Kidney cancer. Jeanette worked in San Antonio Texas and Hollywood California as a legal secretary for 15 years for different law firms. She also modeled and pursued an acting career while in California. She moved to Houston Texas and spent 32 years working for IBM in July 1990. She loved to sing and paint. Also she played piano and the organ. She was a member of the choir as St. Albert’s Catholic Church for many years.

Her first husband Charles Golden Giles of Utah and daughters Debra Giles Leighton of Deer Park and Taryn Giles Whitaker and husband John also of Deer Park; three grand children: Christopher B Leighton of Duns Scotland, Thomas A Leighton and wife Donna of Houston Texas, and Samantha C Whitaker of Deer Park Texas; Great grandson: Nicholas Tyler Leighton of Houston Texas; Cousins: Paul Patrick Coan and wife Lois of Bellville and children David Coan of Deer Park, Christine Coan also of Bellville, Connie L Farmer of Glendale Arizona and children Stephanie Lopez of Phoenix Arizona, Michael Farmer of San Antonio, Texas and David Farmer and numerous other family and friends who loved her. Jeanette Pavlu will be remembered as a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
