On May 3, 2018, the Lord called home his precious child, Jeffrey Stephen Bonds. Born September 6, 2000 to mother, Sidney Lavette Joseph Bonds and father, Fred Douglas Bonds, Jeffrey was a winsome, hopeful child who loved science and technology, school and his older brother Christian Joseph Bonds and sister Jocelyn Antoinette Bonds. As a teenager Jeffrey loved to play video games and was also a quiet, focused person. He was a high school AP Honors student at Nimitz High School, and a member of the National Honor Society.

He received offers to attend a handful of notable universities, including Texas A & M, the University of Texas, UT-Arlington, UT San Antonio and the University of Houston, but had decided to attend Lone Star College his first two years and then transfer to Texas A & M University. His preferred major was Engineering.

A middle child, his parents (married May 25, 1991) have described Jeffrey as an independent spirit with a mind of his own. We believe God gave us free will, and although we don’t fully understand the will of God, we do know that it is not our own will that should be done.

Although we do not fully understand all things, and perhaps would have things otherwise fulfilled, ultimately, we have to align our lives with God’s will. The family asks that friends pray for them, and for the soul of Jeffrey Stephen, and that each one of his surviving relatives and friends may align their hearts with God’s will, in order to live their lives with courage and grace in these difficult days to come.

Jeffrey Stephen was preceded in death by his dear loving grandmothers: Harriet Barlow Allen and Jeanette Bonds, and grandfather Fred Douglas Bonds, Sr. He leaves behind his parents, Sidney aka “Cookie” and Fred Douglas Bonds, brother, Christian, sister, Jocelyn, aunts and uncles: Danita Birdow Joseph; Eunice Birdow Toston (Roderick); Maria Bonds Stowe (Theardise); Karla Bonds Cambre (Anthony); Cassandra Joseph Johnson (Marcus); Jessica Joseph and a host of great-aunts and uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Pray with us that God will accept the lives of his faithful departed as our Jeffrey enters into Heaven.

"Dear Lord, please keep this child forever in our hearts, and keep his parents, brother and sister safe that they may find both peace and joy. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. We believe all of our lives are in God’s hands, but that we each must still do our parts.” Amen.
