Jeffrey Todd Hammonds, age 55, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, after a brief illness. He was born in Houston, Texas, December 10, 1969. Jeff graduated from Hargrave High School and later attended Lone Star Junior College.
Jeff, affectionately known as “Boomer”, to many of his family and friends, is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Erin Hammonds, parents Carl and Glynda Hammonds, his sister Holly Hammonds, two aunts and uncles, Charlotte and Raymond Lahti and Ed and Nancy Reeder, and seven cousins.
His memory will live on in Erin's family as well, two sisters, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and Jeff and Erin’s many nieces; nephews, and great nieces and nephews. His memory will also live on amongst an incredibly special group of friends (you know who you are).
Jeff was Vice President of Sales and Research and Development at Hammonds Technical Services Inc. where his career spanned 32 years. Having grown-up in what started as a family business, he was involved in every phase of the design, manufacturing and the sale of fuel blending systems, aviation tractors, and water treatment equipment. Jeff was responsible for the support of all strategic fuel blending systems for the United States military, commercial, aviation, and equipment in companies abroad.
He is preceded in death by all four of his grandparents: Catherine Louise and Roy Hammonds and Volla and Russell Reeder, aunt and uncle: Norma and Newell Gay, and close childhood friend, Daniel Rogers.
Jeff had many passions and talents. He loved all things mechanical and he had an intuitive and natural gift for working with his hands. Whether working on cars or creating beautiful woodworking projects, if it could be built or improved upon, Jeff would find a way. He loved boating, cars, RC cars, aviation, DIYing, cooking, RVing, and riding recumbent trikes. Jeff and Erin also shared a mutual love of pets that included, through the years, three beloved cocker spaniels and two cats.
Jeff’s greatest legacy, however, remains his kind and gentle soul and his unfailing willingness to help anyone in need. His spirit will be deeply missed by the countless lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor with The Reverend Wayland Coe officiating.
The family will receive extended family and friends for visitation on August 9, 2025 at 1:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home in the Grand Oak Room, 13747 Eastex Freeway (I- 59) Houston, Texas 77039. Funeral services will began at 2:00pm with a Reception to follow in the Patio Room.
