January 1, 1958 – August 3, 2018
Gerard “Jerry” Michael Guarino, was born on the 1st of January 1958, to Michael J. Guarino, Jr. and Mary Ann (Saragusa) Guarino, passed away on Friday, the 3rd of August 2018.
He attended Holy Ghost for grade school and graduated St. Thomas High School in 1976. Jerry enjoyed being self-employed, running pool permits for the City of Houston for 35 years. His passion, however, was spending time with his friends, family, and anything to do with sports. This included time with his work associates, his softball team, The Paper Boys, and at St. Thomas High School, where he served for years as “Voice of the Eagles.”
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Mary (Maida) Saragusa and Michele and Madeline (Porcarello) Guarino, and his father, Michael J. Guarino, Jr. He is survived by his mother, whom he adored, Mary Ann (Saragusa) Guarino; his brothers, Michael Guarino III and Sam Guarino; his sister, Marilynn (Guarino) Peña; their spouses, Cecile, Cindy, and Hector; nieces and nephews, John, Jackie, Steven, Garrett, Marisa and Isabella; his great-nephew, William; and numerous cousins.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from nine o’clock until ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 8th of August, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston.
The Mass of Christian burial is to be offered at ten o’clock in the morning following the visitation also at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the adjacent Parish Life Center.
At a later time, the family will gather for a private interment at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed toward a catholic school or the charity of one’s choice.

Jerry was certainly a happy and jovial person to be around. He always spoke first and genuinely happy to see you. Way too soon.
