Jerry Norman McEachern passed away at 91-years old on April 9, 2026 in New Braunfels, Texas. Jerry was born on July 20, 1934 in Mexia, Texas to Jessie Mae McEachern and Trebor McEachern. At age 8, Jerry’s family moved to Houston where he would spend most of the rest of his life. Even in his final days, he still considered Houston his home. In September 1956, Jerry married Anna Karen Dixon. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Edward McEachern and his middle son, Donald Dixon McEachern. Jerry is survived by his wife Anna Karen Dixon McEachern, son Jerry Norman McEachern Jr. (“Jerry Mac”) and daughter-in-law Teri McEachern, daughter Polly Anna McEachern Wilhelm and son-in-law Dale Wilhelm. Jerry (“PawPaw”) is also survived by six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Jerry was a faithful Christian servant, serving as an ordained deacon in multiple Southern Baptist Churches since 1967. Jerry also served several years in the CrossNet Criminal Justice Ministries. He was a loving husband, devoted father who loved his three children unconditionally and a proud PawPaw who was a fixture at the grandkids sporting events from Little League through college. He especially loved the pre-game warm-up music at St. Pius X High School volleyball games. He proudly attended his grandkids high school, college and US Air Force graduation ceremonies.
Jerry was a patriot who loved his country and served in The US Naval Reserves for eight years. He was also a loyal employee, spending his entire 40-year career at Texaco Pipeline Company before retiring as a Manager of Crude Oil Movement. Always an avid golfer, in retirement Jerry would try to play golf every day of the week if he could and if he couldn’t he would at least go hit balls at the driving range.
The family would especially like to thank the nurses and staff at Oak Tree Assisted Living Facility and Hope Hospice in New Braunfels for their tender loving care of our husband and father in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Jerry’s name to Hope Hospice New Braunfels.
