Mrs. Slataper was born the 13th of March 1916 in Tomball, Texas to Lee Allen Daniel and Iva Amelia Lee Daniel. She graduated from Sam Houston State University and taught school for a few years in Alice, Texas. Later, she worked at the Southern Pacific Railroad Hospital in Houston where she met her husband. They were happily married for over 50 years.
She was very proud of her family heritage and loved being a part of the Daniel Family and the Lee Family. Mrs. Slataper was a member of South Main Baptist Church since the early 1960’s and faithfully participated in Sunday school and church until she could no longer travel. She was a resident of Houston and lived the last five years of her life at the Gardens of Bellaire, an assisted living facility where she became an avid bingo player. The Gardens of Bellaire did a wonderful job in taking care of her.
Mrs. Slataper was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Slataper, M.D.; her son, John Slataper; and her sister, Ione Cezeaux. She is survived by her son, Lee Slataper and his wife, Laura; granddaughter, Jennifer Slataper Harris and her husband, Robert; great granddaughter, Charlotte Grace Harris; step granddaughter, Alice Fulks; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are cordially invited to greet the family during a visitation in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 29th of December.
