Jesus Zareno Diaz, devoted husband, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Jesus (nickname Boy) was 2nd out of 4 children born to the late Jose Abasolo Diaz Sr. and Leonor Callanta Zareno on October 3, 1944 in the Philippines. He grew up in Quezon City, located on the Guadalupe Plateau, just northeast of Manila. He grew up surrounded by his family, nieces and nephews.
Early in his life, Boy graduated from The Far Eastern University in Manila and a earned a bachelor's degree in commerce. He worked at Pacific Banking Corporation. During his time in the Philippines, he fell in love with his next door neighbor, Aurora, who later became his wife. He immigrated to the United States of America and resided in Houston, Texas. He worked at the United States Postal Service, and retired from the USPS in 2016.
He will be greatly missed by his family, especially by his wife. Boy is survived by his wife Aurora, his sister Jennifer Diaz Sanchez and her husband Edizon (deceased), nieces Mary Louise Jason Nicholas, Maria Angelica Sanchez, Maria Teresa Sanchez, Cheryl Lee De Guia, Jackyline Diaz, Michelle Pauline Diaz, Francine Marie Manalili, and nephews Louis Marie Manalili and Joselito Diaz. He was preceded in death by his sister Juliet Diaz Manalili and brother Jose Diaz Jr.
We welcome family and friends to Jesus Memorial Service on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079 from 6-8pm.
