

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesus Ramirez, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a loving husband. Jesus departed from this world on October 10, 2023, leaving a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories. He was 84 years old.
Jesus was born on July 24, 1939, and throughout his remarkable journey through life, he touched the hearts of many. He was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and kindness to his family and friends. His memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jesus was united in marriage to the love of his life, Idelia Ramirez Garza, for 59 years until her passing. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love, loyalty, and commitment. The love they shared was a shining example for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his six children, who were a source of immense pride and joy in his life: children, Sonia Laura Trevino and husband Roel Trevino, Lorena S. Perez and husband J. Javier Perez, Jesus A. Ramirez, Blanca I. Garcia and husband Juan Javier Garcia, Jr., Leticia Estrada and husband Jose G. Estrada, Gladys V. Ramirez; brother, Leonel Ramirez; sisters, Guadalupe Barrera, Rafaela Saenz. Jesus was also blessed with eighteen grandchildren and one beautiful little angel (+), each of whom held a special place in his heart and eleven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and happiness.
His preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Idelia Garza de Ramirez; parents, Virginia Hinojosa Ramirez and Guadalupe Ramirez; granddaughter, Briana Alexis Garcia; sisters, Amelia Zavala, Maria Hernandez; brothers, Manuel Ramirez, and Roel Barrera.
Throughout his life, Jesus touched the lives of those around him with his warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love. He was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
He was a dedicated soul who brought numerous individuals to embrace the faith of God. He accomplished this by gathering people in his spacious, extra-large blue van, which he lovingly used to transport them for ministry work in various towns across Texas and Mexico. Through his selfless efforts and unwavering commitment, he played a significant role in leading others to the path of faith and spreading the message of God's love to many communities. His van became a vessel of faith and a symbol of his devotion to the ministry.
In addition to his unwavering commitment to faith and ministry, Jesus Ramirez had a deep love for the Rodeo. Every single year, he made it a cherished tradition to take his children to this thrilling event. His enthusiasm for the Rodeo was infectious, creating lasting memories and instilling a love for this exciting Texas tradition in his kids.
Sundays were a sacred day for Jesus, devoted to family. He ensured that he spent quality time with his children on these precious days, creating an unbreakable bond and beautiful memories. His dedication to family values shone brightly, leaving an indelible mark on his children's lives. His wisdom, guidance, and love will be greatly missed, but the memories of his kindness and the values he instilled in his family will live on.
Not only did Jesus prioritize family time, but he also made sure that his children had the opportunity to explore and appreciate all the rich cultural and natural attractions that Houston had to offer. From the historic San Jacinto Battleground to the wonders of NASA, the Houston Zoo, and Lake Houston, he instilled a sense of wonder and adventure in his children. However, his favorite spot, and one where countless cherished moments were made, was Galveston, where they created memories that would last a lifetime. Jesus Ramirez's love for his children and his dedication to providing them with enriching experiences will forever be remembered and treasured by his family.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Jesus Ramirez for the love and light he brought into the world. His legacy will continue to shine through the generations he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved Idelia, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Jesus’ life will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10:00 Am at Brookside Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider making a donation to a charity or cause close to your heart in him memory.
