

She was born in Harmon County, Oklahoma on November 17, 1925. Jewell’s father was Beecher Stamps, born in Sparta, Tennessee and her mother was Birdie Queen Stamps, born in Victoria, Texas. Jewell graduated from Millsap High School in 1943. She worked in Mineral Wells, Texas for a short time and then moved to Houston, Texas in 1944.
She was married to Jack Milton Roberts, Jr. on June 2, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. Jewell was a stay-at-home wife and mother for most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ and had a passion for teaching children’s Sunday school.
Jewell’s husband, Jack Milton Roberts, her sisters Nellie Jean Hodge and Dorothy Richardson predeceased her.
She was survived by son, Thomas M. Roberts and wife Linda Roberts [children Cherise Sanford; Janine Salgado and husband Jose Salgado; Zachary Roberts and wife Katy Roberts (children Jaxon Roberts and Audrey Roberts); Allison Roberts; Anthony Roberts and wife Kelsey Roberts]; son Daniel J. Roberts; nephews Kenn Hodge; Timothy Richardson and wife Blanche Richardson; Gary Richardson; niece Ann Hodge Golden.
