OBITUARY

Jimmie L. Atchison III

May 2, 1980October 10, 2020

Jimmie L. Atchison III, 40, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2020 surrounded by his family. Jimmie was born May 2, 1980 in Houston, Texas and was dearly loved by his parents Jimmie and Mary Atchison. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Jimmie and Gertrude (Gertie) Atchison and James (Jim) and Phyllis Kyd.

Jimmie graduated from Langham Creek High School in 1998 where he made lifelong friends and deepened his love of sports. He attended several Texas colleges and with his charismatic charm and ‘gift of gab’ settled into a successful sales career.

On November 22, 2008, Jimmie married the love of his life, Sarah Black. They were blessed to have two beautiful children Ryan (11) and Avery (10) whom they love beyond measure.

Jimmie never met a stranger and was always able to strike up a conversation with anyone about anything; however, his favorite topic was sports…ALL SPORTS! This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful soul left a permanent mark on everyone he met and will be deeply missed by so many. He will be forever remembered for his comedic wit, bright smile, gentle caring spirit and unconditional love he gave so freely. In addition to all of these admirable qualities, each of us can only aspire to his ability to genuinely care, connect and stay in contact with his countless lifelong friends, close and extended family members… making each one feel especially loved and important to him. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort knowing that he is in heaven watching over us and reminding us all to Carpe Diem.

Jimmie is survived by his parents Jimmie & Mary Atchison, his favorite ex-wife Sarah Atchison, children, Ryan and Avery, sister Ashlie Atchison and fiancé Michael Bowen, brothers Phillip Atchison, Michael Howard and Jaimie Soriano, bonus sister Shelsea Sain and nephew Sawyer, aunts and uncles; Burl and Cara Atchison, Monica and David Pali, Mark and Beverly Atchison, Betty Johnson, Lia and Mark Demuth, Michael and Mimi Bagnasco and Susan Fox, cousins, Logan and Lisa Atchison and their daughter Lucy, Taylor Atchison, Glen Atchison, Kristine and Dillon Briley and their son Owen, Justin Pali, Charlie and Ashli Johnson and their children Charlie Dean and Rhiannon, Lindsay and Ryan Quinn, Ali and David Roraback, Gabi and Victor Ramirez, Michael and Kassi Bagnasco, Olivia Bagnasco and fiancé Zachary Coates and Vivian Fox.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, a contribution to his children Avery and Ryan’s 529 College Fund would be appreciated. Please make checks payable to Raymond James & Associates and mail to: Raymond James & Associates Attn.: Lia Demuth 15375 Memorial Drive, Ste 350 Houston, Texas 77079

There are no words that seem adequate enough to say thank you for your kindness during the loss of our beautiful son, lil Jimmie. He was one-of-a-kind and will be deeply missed.

With Love, The Atchison Family

I did not have the occasion to meet Jimmie, but I can tell from his picture that he was very lighthearted and good crazy... like my father Walter Winzig, who was very similar in many ways...maybe because they were both salesmen...

I will think and pray for his wonderful parents Mary and Jimmie, and other family members who are still with us and those who have gone to other heavenly places. We still have wonderful memories and hope to honor those in the future...

Jimmy & Mary we were so very sorry to hear about the passing of your son Jimmy. He was a character just like you Jimmy. Loosing a child has to be the hardest thing to ever go through and we can't imagine having to go through that. We send our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

I only met Jimmie one time back when I was in junior high. He was the coolest older brother and helped his sister Ashlie and friends when we got a wild itch to go Tpee some friends houses during a sleepover. I remember in the middle of all of this, I fell ill and started running a fever and Jimmie was kind enough to carry me back to the house. Later on we became Facebook friends and we carried a friendly banter for many years. Although I was fortunate to only meet him once, my heart hurt badly to hear the news. This is a testimony to how great of a guy he was. I pray for his family and those beautiful babies.
Rest In Peace

Mary & Jimmie and family,
I can't not even find the words right now. My heart aches for you all and I pray that God gives you all the strength during this time.
Jimmie was always so kind to me whenever I saw him. He had so much respect.
His full of life energy was always contagious. Always a smiling and being silly.
He will be missed. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to you all.

To The Atchison Family,
My deepest sympathies and prayers go to you in this time. I remember Lil Jimmie never let me forget about the time I busted my 2 front teeth out, and he had to rescue me. Always kept me laughing about that day. Sending love from The Saunders Family 💕💕
