Jimmy Donald Dixon, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle passed away December 8, 2021. He was born in Temple, Texas August 21, 1929. While attending Rogers High School, he was the co-captain on the high school football team playing the right half back position. He was named as an All District and All Central Texas Player. He also drove the school bus, which left him with many great stories and memories. He married his high school sweetheart, Marion Campbell, June 7, 1951. He worked in heavy construction including notable projects like the Astrodome and the Shell Building.
He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Diane and Jerry, Donna and Ron, and Terry and John. He was very proud of his three grandsons and their wives, John and Maria, Jason and Jennifer, and Travis and Shelby, who are all Aggies. He was especially fond of his grand dog, Monty, and his great grandsons, Jacob and Lucas. In addition to many loving relatives, Jimmy and Marion had numerous strong friendships, many lasting more than fifty years.
Jimmy and Marion enjoyed traveling to most of the fifty states in the US and cruises, especially the one to Alaska celebrating their 50th anniversary. Jimmy still talked about his trip to Peru in 2012 with his nephew, Allen and his sons. When not traveling, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and projects at his house and property in Somerville. He also followed the Houston sports teams, especially the Astros.
The family would like to thank his caregivers from Visiting Angels and the staff at The Villages at Gleannloch Farms for their loving care and support. We also appreciate the visits from his many friends and family.
