

Joan was born on the 10th of September 1928 in Houston, Texas to Lewis Jay and Eunice Edwards Fredley. She attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, Lamar Jr. High School, and Lamar High School before attending The University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Joan graduated from U.T. with an Art Degree. She was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years and retired from HISD.
After graduation Joan returned to Houston and on the 22nd of November 1950, was married to her “friend” from kindergarten, Robert Kirkton Minor Sr. During their 47 years together, Joan and Bob traveled often and spent summers at their home in Copper Mountain, Colorado.
Joan was a gifted gardener, artist, card player, and a cherished friend who passionately cheered for the Astros and never missed a game. She was truly a “one of a kind" cheerful, fun, no excuses person for all of her long life.
Joan’s life was full of love and in April of 1998, she married Ben A. Brollier in Houston, Texas and they spent the last 28 years together with their legion of friends. Travelling and spending time at the cottage in Riverhill and welcoming many great grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Kirkton Minor Sr., and son, Robert Kirkton Minor Jr. She is survived by her husband Ben A. Brollier; daughters Elaine Minor Anderson, Sue Ann Minor Morel and her husband Clay Morel; grandchildren, Anthony Morel and his wife Sara, Katherine Maxson Bosman and her husband Paul, Amanda Maxson Armbruster and her husband Ryan, Robert Maxwell Morel and his wife Briana, Mallory Maxson Carew and her husband Kendall, and Dylan Matthew Morel; great grandchildren Emory Eilers Bosman, Joseph Maxson Armbruster, Berkeley Elizabeth Bosman, Ann Kirkton Armbruster, Carolyn Edwards Carew, and Henry Brock Carew; step-children David Sydnor Brollier and his wife Debbie, Carol Brollier Deason and her husband Brad, Charles Stephen Brollier and his wife Anne; and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored.
