Joanmarie Williams

Joanmarie loved to travel and cruise around the world with her husband, Stuart. She had incredible skills in sewing, dressmaking, cross-stitching, and knitting. Additionally, she enjoyed collecting thimbles, travel spoons, Hallmark ornaments, and coffee mugs. Joanmarie was well-known for her love of cats and her strong dislike of snakes.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Stanley Shelton; her son, Gilbert Shelton Jr.; her daughter, Theresa "Terry" Jensen; her son, Thomas Shelton; her daughter, Denise Minnear; her great-grandson, Colton Jensen; and her great-great-grandson, Cruzz Martinez.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart Campbell Williams III; her sister, Georgette Staropoli; her daughter, Georgette Goode; her son, Dean Shelton; her son, Bryan Shelton; her son, Barry Shelton; her daughter, Bonnie Bennett, as well as 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, on January 26, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

Her Celebration of Life will follow at the same location from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The Committal Service will take place at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm on the same day.
