Joe G. Arreguin, age 94, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025.
Born in Kent, Ohio, Joe lived a full and generous life rooted in hard work, pride, and compassion. Though he could be stubborn at times, those who knew him best will remember him as a kind-hearted man — the type who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought.
Joe owned and operated his own printing business, a source of immense pride and joy. He loved the dignity of honest work and took great care in everything he did. Outside of his business, Joe found happiness in the simple things — his wife Bertha’s cooking, watching live sports on television with his Son, enjoying having conversations with his daughter-in-law Christi, in addition to spending time with family and friends, and sharing stories from his military service, which he held close to his heart. Among the many accomplishments of his life, Joe was especially proud of his military duty, his strength in quitting smoking cold turkey, and his independence as a business owner.
Joe had a way with words that reflected his no-nonsense attitude toward life. As he often said, "My Got Up and Go, Got Up and Went," and “It’s Hell to Get Old.” But his resilience and humor never faded, even as he aged.
He is survived by his loving wife Bertha and devoted son David, who will carry forward his legacy of hard work, generosity, and resilience.
Joe’s presence, strength, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
