It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Cavazos, who entered eternal rest on July 21, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 75. Joe was born on October 15, 1950, in Cameron, Texas, to his loving parents, Frank Cavazos and Billie Galarza.
He was a simple man whose greatest joys in life were found in the company of his family. Joe cherished Sunday dinners with his mother and family, creating memories around the table that will be treasured.
Known for his warm spirit and easygoing nature, Joe had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke around, always bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. He was a devoted fan of the Houston Astros and enjoyed following his favorite team through the years.
Joe is survived by his loving children: Denise Cavazos Miller and son-in-law Bryant Miller; Joe Anthony Cavazos; Jeanette Pierre and son-in-law Kenneth Pierre; Annette Cavazos; and Isaac Cavazos and daughter-in-law Jeanette Padilla Cavazos. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Travis Cavazos, Michael Espinoza, Ashley Rogas Shaw, Serena Espinoza, Jenessa Espinoza, Leah Cavazos, Dejah Parker, Kristal Cavazos, Ayden Spurlock, Marina Jo Cavazos, Jacob Miller, and Andrew Miller; his beloved great-grandchildren: Casen Cavazos, Braxton Shaw, and Kobey Jones, with one more great-grandchild on the way; his brothers, Frank Jr. Cavazos and Samuel Cavazos; his sister-in-law, Lucy Rosario Cavazos; his niece and nephews, Michelle Cavazos, Troy Cavazos, and Mia Cavazos Esquivel; his aunt, Stella Galaviz; his cousins, Cindy Suarez, Manuel Sanchez, and Adrian Galaviz; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Joe will be remembered for his love of family, his kind heart, his sense of humor, and the simple pleasures that meant so much to him. His presence brought comfort and joy to those who knew and loved him, and his memory will forever remain in their hearts.
Though he has left this earthly life, the love, laughter, and cherished memories Joe shared with his family and friends will continue to live on.
