He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria Ramirez & Anastacio Diaz and brother, Pedro Diaz.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Felipa Diaz; son, Joe Guadalupe Diaz, Jr. his wife Esmeralda Perez; daughter, Mary Isabel Rocha and her wife, Sabrina Rocha; Grandchildren, Aiyanna Salinas, Joe G. Diaz III, Marissa Yvette Diaz; Brothers, Anastacio Diaz, Santiago Diaz, Raul Diaz, Jesus Diaz; Sisters, Silvia Diaz Ly, Maria Gamez, Esperanza Garcia, Marina Avila, Leticia Landin, and numerous extended family members and friends.
