Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed at his home on January 20, 2021, in Grapeland TX. He was born in Muldoon, TX on September 28, 1939. He was preceded by his father and mother Buck and Lilly Fleck, grandchild Daniel Fleck, great-grandchild Conner Tate, and his faithful K9 companion Boots.
He leaves his loving wife Elizabeth of 61 and a half years, sister Thelma, brother Jack and wife Linda, four children Charlotte and husband Cliff West, Joe Jr. and wife Patsy Fleck, Michael Fleck and partner Stacy Turner, and Greg and wife Wendy Fleck. He, affectionately known as PAWPAW, is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren - plus, a host of family and friends.
Joe was a welder working for Marine Repairs in the Port of Houston for over 30 years. From there, he retired spending his days concentrating on his family and friends. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, cooking, word puzzles, and spending time with his kids and grandbabies who were the joy of his life. What made it even better was sitting around a campfire sharing a story or two with a great cup of coffee.
In recent years, he moved from Houston to Grapeland, TX fulfilling a dream of getting back to the country way of living with his wife Elizabeth and new K9 companion Whiskers. There they enjoyed great neighbors and watching the critters in the back yard.
