Joe Louis Gonzalez

Joe Louis Gonzalez passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 77. He spent most of his adult life in Anchorage, Alaska. He later relocated to Cypress, Texas, where he remained surrounded by family he loved so deeply.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later built a career as a very successful electrician. A skilled craftsman, Joe enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found woodworking, tackling home renovation projects, or repairing something that needed attention. He was a man who believed in hard work, helping others, and taking pride in a job well done.

Joe had a gift for bringing people together. He loved fishing, camping, dancing, reading, watching action movies, and spending time at his typewriter. He was a natural storyteller whose tales, jokes, and quick wit could fill a room with laughter. His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts, and he never missed an opportunity to make someone smile.

Above all else, Joe was devoted to his family. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help a loved one in need. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren and took great joy in spoiling them whenever he could. His love and dedication to his wife, Mary Alice, was evident throughout their life together and served as an example to all who knew them.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Alice Gonzalez; his daughter Melissa DeLeon and her husband David; his daughter Angela Limb and her husband Johnathan; his grandchildren Juan Miguel Gonzalez and his wife Jaimee, John Limb, Michael Limb, Gabriella DeLeon, and Cruz DeLeon; and a great-grandson on the way, whom he was eagerly anticipating. He is also survived by his siblings: Maria Martinez; Gilbert Gonzales and his wife Terry; Gloria Villanueva and her husband Rodney; Stella Busbice and her husband Timothy; Olga Grijalva and her husband Phillip; and Anna Gonzales.

Joe was preceded in death by his son, Michael Gonzalez; his parents, Jesus and Guadalupe Gonzales; and his brothers, Sal Gonzales and Pepe Gonzales.

Joe’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered as a loyal husband, a loving father and grandfather, a proud veteran, a skilled craftsman, and a man whose heart was always open to family and friends.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
