

Joe David Johnson, 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 13, 2025. He was born in Navasota, Texas, on April 17, 1942, to Johnnie Mae Potter and M.B. Johnson. Joe graduated from Jack Yates High School and later met Rosalie Walker in Houston, Texas. They married on April 19, 1969, and enjoyed 56 wonderful years together.
Joe dedicated 40 years of his career to transportation and customer service, working for Schepps Dairy/Carnation Milk Companies and Avis Car Rental. He had a passion for coin collecting, collecting baseball caps and spent many hours landscaping his yard. Joe accepted Christ into his heart at the age of 12. He loved sharing God’s holy word with his family and ensuring that his children understood the importance of Jesus Christ in their lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, M.B. Johnson and Johnnie Mae Potter; four brothers, Arthur Johnson, Ollie Johnson, Donald Ray Taylor, and Robert Potter; one sister, Revoiler Johnson Brown; one brother-in-law, Walter Brown; one niece, Angel Sneed; two nephews, Fitzgerald Johnson and Afernee Williams; and one son-in-law, Danny Lopez.
Joe leaves behind cherished memories with his beloved wife, Rosalie Johnson; three daughters, Tina Johnson, Yolanda Johnson, and Christine Johnson Lopez; one granddaughter, Mirarose Lopez; one sister, Alice Faye St. Jules; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Antonio Potter, Alonzo Sloan, Reginald Brown, Yolanda Johnson and Christine Johnson.
