Joe Lee Sanchez Jr

Joe Lee Sanchez Jr., was born in Houston, Texas on December 16, 1943 and went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2015. He was a phenomenal and classically trained drummer, and in addition to his talents as a musician, he was a Stationary Engineer as well as a skilled Union Glacier. He loved life and it showed in all that he did! Everyone who knew him, knew he always had a big smile on his face an even bigger heart and a great big booming voice to go with them. He was an amazing Dad to his children and their world just won’t be the same without him. Joe is preceded in death by his beloved wife Yolanda Sanchez, his little brother Ruben Sanchez and his cherished parents Joe and Fermina Sanchez. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Reynaldo Sanchez (Patsy), Dolores Sustaita, RoseAnn Garza, and Janie Mendez (Ralph). He leaves priceless memories to be cherished by his children, Gregory Michael Sanchez (Raquel), Joe Lee Sanchez III (Darlene), Raquel S. Villareal (Gene), Rachel Lee Sanchez (Rodolfo), and Erica Lee Sanchez (Mario). He will be forever loved and missed by the legacy he is leaving behind in his grandchildren Ashley R. Sanchez, Joe L. Sanchez IV, Rodolfo Nuncio III, Rolando Nuncio, Jade L. Villareal, Rianna Nuncio, Miranda Sanchez, Monica Sanchez, Gene “Blue” Villareal, Zion Villareal, and Eric Rios as well as a host of family and friends. Services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran/Houston, TX 77009. Viewing will be on Monday, 01/04/16 from 5pm to 9pm, with a Rosary at 7pm. Mass will be held on Tuesday, 01/05/16 at 11am with a reception to follow in the parish hall. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Winter Haven for their care and Harbor Hospice for their support in his final days.
