Johann was born on Mother's Day, May 11, 1959, in Lienz, Austria. He passed on June 10, 2024, in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife Barbara Poetscher, brothers Josef, Heinrich (daughter Sonja) and Hardwig and sister Maria (daughters Sabrina and Anna), daughter Gia, grandkids Cassandra and GianCarlo, and Papi the cat.
Johann was a Master Craftsman trained in Austria, starting at a young age, in woodworking following in his family's footsteps. He took great pride in his work, so meticulous in all he did, every job had to be perfect. He was highly sought after by recruiters trying to steal him away from Columbia Showcase (30 years) for his unmatched abilities and precision of his craft.
Johann lived on the edge, he was a tough and fearless man. He loved hard rock music, riding motorcycles, skiing, mudding in his Jeep, and smoking those damn Marlboro cigarettes. He enjoyed hanging out with our neighborhood pals who are family to us.
Above all, Johann was a selfless and simple man. He was compassionate, a great protector (terminator) and provider to his wife and family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and someone you could always count on.
He is "too well loved to ever be forgotten."
We love you, we miss you, we want you to be happy
Go safely, go dancing, go running home ...
