John Anagnostopoulos

John Anagnostopoulos, born in Greece on January 7, 1959, passed away at the age of 65 on Sunday, September 8, 2024. A dedicated public servant and cherished family man, John’s life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his community and his loved ones.

John was the son of Efthimios and Dimitria Anagnostopoulos. He immigrated to the United States and made Houston his home, where he proudly served with the Houston Police Department. Joining the force on April 15, 1985, as a member of Academy Class #128, John was assigned to the Jail and Westside Divisions. Over his 29-year career, he made a lasting impact on those he served before retiring on September 27, 2014.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Efthymia Anagnostopoulos; his beloved brother, George Anagnostopoulos; and his cherished daughters, Eleni Anagnostopoulos and Angela Orozco. He was also a proud grandfather to Dimitri and Rayne Orozco. His family finds solace in the rich memories they shared and the profound love he gave them.

John’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of his family and the community he served so faithfully. His legacy of dedication, integrity, and love will forever be remembered and cherished.
