

He is preceded in death on the Apel side by his Grandfather, John Edward Apel and Grandmother Lois Apel, and Aunt Tommye Taylor, along with 2 cousins Sabrina Apel-Hernandez and Douglas Conrad, also including his Grandfather Robert Owen Conrad and Grandmother, Bessie Edna Conrad and 12 Aunts and uncles on the Conrad side.
John “Johnny” graduated from Klein High School in May 1989. He then went into the Army Reserves to serve his country. After that, he spent most of his career as a CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) Operator in the civil engineering field for quite a few years. He then pursued his love of music as well and became a member of the band Frizzbee back in the day. He and the band performed on stage at numerous venues. He loved the outdoors and camping, so he was always out somewhere exploring nature.
John is survived by his father, John R. Apel, his mother, Karen L. Duncan, his sister Michelle and husband Chad Matthews, and his nephew, Anthony Oeltjen and niece, Mackenzie Matthews, Aunts Sharon Apel, Jean Ellis, Marlene Yerk, Theresa Lewis, Uncle Phil E. Apel, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Services for John will be held at 10:30AM on July 17, 2024 at The Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park. They are located at 2454 S. Dairy Ashford, Houston, Texas 77077
