John Michael Dallas entered into his eternal rest on August 8, 2023. He was born on November 28, 1952 in Houston, Texas, the 4th child of Joan B. And William W. Dallas. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by sisters Margaret D. Yuna and husband Robert, Katherine D. Costello, brothers William W. Dallas, Jr. and his wife Jackie, and Patrick S. Dallas and wife Ginger. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
A native Houstonian, John worked in the automotive industry, first as a golf cart mechanic, later for many years as a Certified State Auto Inspector before relocating to Tomball, Texas in 2015 to work at Tomball Pawn and Jewelry as an inventory specialist, a position created especially for him by his nephew Jeff Yuna.
John loved life - loved people and they loved him. His interests included golf and bowling, traveling, photography, working puzzles, crafting birdhouses, games, especially Rubix Cube, cards, dominoes, Sunday night Bingo, movie night at Bob's and countless hours under the gazebo solving all of the world's problems.
Family and faith were everything to John. He loved family calls and visits and he loved his church, First Baptist Church in Tomball, Texas, and his Sunday school class. Family and friends through these past years of serious health issues were critical - emotionally, physically and financially supportive.
There is one friend who has literally excelled them all - Lou Hodge who, for 4 years, has been his caregiver, coming to his aid at all hours of the day or night, was there with him at his final moment. There are no words that adequately convey our gratitude and affection. Lou earned herself a really big crown in heaven.
Mr. "Ta Ta" man will be missed by many and a bunch.
A Celebration of Life for John will be on Sunday, August 20th at 3pm First Baptist Church in Tomball, Texas with Pastor James Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers we suggest eating at The Nook in Tomball - telling these fine folks who fed John for free - John sent them - then leaving a big tip.
