He was a man of quiet strength, skillful hands, and a generous spirit. A lifelong mechanic, he spent his days working on cars and tractors — not just as a job, but as a calling. His dedication to fixing what was broken, and doing it right, earned him deep respect from all who knew him.
Outside the shop, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for gardening, cultivating everything from vegetables to vibrant flowers with patience and care. His yard was always full of life, and his hands — though tough from years of work — could coax beauty from the soil.
John was also known for his homemade hot sauce, a fiery favorite among family and friends. He took pride in perfecting his recipes, often using ingredients grown in his own garden — a perfect reflection of his creativity and care.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret DeLeon of 66 years and son John Edward DeLeon.
He is survived by his loving family, daughter Linda DeVore husband Glen, son Samuel DeLeon, wife Robin, and daughter Norma Cutler. Grandchildren, Krystal, Jonathan, Misty, Justin, Christian, Elizabeth, and Joshua. Great Grandchildren, Isaac, Oliver, Cayson, Lucy, Khyler and Elena and numerous family members.
John DeLeon will be remembered not only for what he built and grew, but for the love he gave so freely — in every engine he fixed, every plant he nurtured, and every bottle of hot sauce he shared.
