Obituary of John William Hilgert
Our beloved John William Hilgert was born in Houston, Texas on February 12, 2007 and went to his forever home with Jesus on November 5, 2021. John attended Hunters Creek Elementary, Spring Branch Middle School and Memorial High School. John allowed his family to fill him with love from the day he was born. He returned that love in immeasurable ways to all who became a part of his life. John's big heart was evident in the way he made friends everywhere he went. His smile was contagious, and he filled people with positive energy. All 14 years of his life on Earth were lived to the fullest. He brought happiness to every situation and rallied everyone around him to have fun and enjoy life. John lived his life through his friends and family. John was a very talented baseball player, and it was pure joy to watch him play. He loved everything about the game. Sports gave John a physical outlet to express himself while allowing him to spend time with friends. John also enjoyed playing basketball and was an asset to all of the teams he played on. He loved golfing with his dad, skiing with his family, and conquering the mountain on his bike with great skill and no fear. John’s faith was very important to him. He enjoyed acolyting in church, being a part of his Confirmation class, and reading Bible verses on the way to school. His prayers always ended with, “Lord, watch over our troops and the homeless.” John was preceded in death by his great grandfather, William Werner; his grandfathers, Peter Hilgert and Rodney Rondestvedt. John is survived by his parents, Chris and Nichole Hilgert; and his sister Elizabeth Hilgert; as well as his grandmothers, Margaret Hilgert and Charlene Rondestvedt; John is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Kassie Hilgert and Susan Lawless, Roxanne Rondestvedt, Marcus and Latina Rondestvedt, and Bethany and Eric Foyt as well as his six cousins, Macey and Andi Sarbaum, Camden and Rivers Rondestvedt, and Evelynn and Madilynn Foyt.
