

John Leslie Hinsey passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, the 31st of January 2010, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 60.A long-time Houstonian, John was born the first of two children to Burdette and Neva Trumm Hinsey in Kansas City, Kansas, on the 6th of March 1949.John moved to Houston in 1981 where he pursued a career as a Liquefied Petroleum Gas Trader for Ferrellgas and Transammonia, Inc. Throughout his career in LPG trading, a career in which he took a great deal of pride, he forged many long-lasting and valuable friendships.John is preceded in death by his father, and his sister Kay, who passed away at an early age. He is survived by his mother, Neva; sons, Joel and his wife Joanna of Madison, Wisconsin, and Jason and his wife Kerry of Bosque Farms, New Mexico; his sister Mary Goya and her husband Tom of Hilo, Hawaii; step-children, Ashley and her husband Nick of San Diego, California, Brooke of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Bryce and his wife Jill of Los Angeles, California; and several wonderful grandchildren, as well as numerous close and dear friends.The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered their love, prayers and support throughout his battle. It will never be forgotten.A celebration of John’s life is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 3rd of February, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in John’s memory may be directed to the LPG Charity Fund, 13430 NW Freeway, Suite 1200, Houston, TX, 77040.“John loved to live life to the fullest, and continued to do so up until the very end.
