John "Jack" Maye

Jack served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed with General Electric for 35 years. Jack began his career with GE in Beaumont as a Turbine Service Representative and transferred to the Houston office where his position was Service Sales Specialist. His job consisted of interacting and calling on utility, industrial, and marine customers.He was extremely well liked and respected among his peers and was an outstanding representative for GE.

Jack was a golf enthusiast and played like a professional! His compassion, kindness, and generosity were attributes he possessed and were exhibited throughout his extraordinary life not only to his beloved wife, Rosalie, but to every member of his and her family.

He will be remembered for the exemplary life he lived and how he touched the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Rosalie Halbouty Maye, also a sister, Mary Eichholtz, a brother Frank Maye and a niece Doris Halbouty Konduros and a great niece and God daughter Karen Konduros Knowles.

We cannot feel life’s losses without first feeling the blessings of its fullness.

Sorrow is a fleeting emotion but love is infinite.

We love you, dearest Jack, today, tomorrow, and forever until we are all united in heaven with you, God, and His Son Jesus Christ.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 17th of May, in the Library and Grand Foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

A funeral service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 18th of May, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where the Rev. Chris Nagel, Chaplain, of Vitas Hospice, is to officiate.

The interment service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 19th of May, at St. Michael Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street in Beaumont.

In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in memory of Jack may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
